I need to admit, I am cheating for this post. I didn't take this photo today. It was taken...5 weeks ago? The afternoon of my 18 week ultrasound when my husband and I found out the gender of our little Hippo. When Hippo finally got his name, Emerson. This photo was used for our gender announcement on Facebook so all of our family and friends could know - Facebook may be getting a lot of bad rep at the moment, but it really is great for staying connected to everyone when our family members are on opposite sides of the globe.

Hubby was a bit unsure about the photo. He said it looked like a 'stock image' something about being too professional. But hey, I did used to run a photography business. So, isn't it suppose to be that my photographs should look professional? Either way, I adore the image. I think it would look great as a canvas print hung up somewhere. Our little hippo. Unfortunately we couldn't find a hippo toy anywhere in town to add to the image, but hubby brought the triceratop toy instead, hey, this boy is going to be spoiled with dinosaurs, mostly hand-me-down dinosaurs from her big sister when she decides she is too old for toys and would rather clothes and makeup and boys.
But yeah, E is for Emerson, our son. To whom I am currently 23 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I feel like it has already been so much longer, and it feels like forever until we are going to meet him. Forever filled with worry and anxiety and me fretting every moment thinking something could go wrong. Praying that everything will be okay and that we will have a healthy baby boy by the first week of August.
