Okay, so there was no blog post yesterday. Whoops, missed a day! But I told myself yesterday that I would do 2 posts today to make up for it. Yesterday was just downright exhausting. Spent the day cleaning and cooking and by mid afternoon I could barely move anymore. My pregnant self may have overdone it a little bit. So much so that I only got out of bed today to eat dinner, and do this photo and blogs.

Continuing with the Alphabet Photo a Day Challenge, today's prompt was 'D is for...'. As with the letter A, there were a number of very important things to me that start with D, Darling Daughter for one! A few other things in my life start with D too that would have made good photos, and this photo which I took was actually a last minute decision. I knew I had to get some drawing done, and was waiting for the 'golden hour' around sunset to take the original photo I had planned when I realized, hey, drawing starts with D and it is important to me. Mostly during my teenage years, but also during my college and more recent years of my life I have turned to drawing as a means of expressing myself when my brain has been in that dark place. In my teenage years drawing and poetry are really what got me through, they were like a siphon that I could get some of that pent up emotion out and express it some way.

Today was a difficult day, aside from the tiredness from yesterday, even when I wanted to get up and do stuff I just couldn't get out of bed. Everything was just grey for me, I had that rain cloud above my head again and I felt like I was weighed down to the bed and couldn't move. Even through my art supplies are in a draw not a metre away from my bedside, I couldn't work up the strength and motivation to grab them until mid afternoon, when I had been laying there for hours wanting to work on the drawings I have to do. I am glad that I finally was able to get it done though, my daughter is waiting for this image. Really I hit the jackpot for today's prompt, as it is a Drawing of my Darling Daughter. I had been doing some other drawings recently for an intended project, kind of cartoon style, and when my daughter saw the drawing I had done of her face she asked me to draw her as a wolf-girl, one of her 'things' at the moment. She told me how she wanted to stand, what she wanted to wear, and that she wanted wolf ears and a tail, so I have finally gotten around to drawing it. Now I just need to ink it, scan it and then give the paper copy to her to colour in.

Now I really need to get onto drawing her Moana themed birthday invites, a D&D character for my hubby, and then get back to working on my other project that I had started.
